Ward of Court Applications
In certain circumstances, when a person becomes unable to manage his assets due to mental incapacity, an application can be made to the Court to have this person made a Ward of Court. This enables to the Court to manage and control the person’s (the ‘Ward’) assets on their behalf, often in conjunction with family members (known as the ‘Committee’). At David J. O’Meara & Sons, we have had extensive dealings with the Office of the Wards of Court, and can give advice on the duties of a Committee and the obligations owed to the Ward.
