Adjustment of the ‘In Camera’ Rule in Family Law Cases

Mar 22, 2013

The Courts Bill 2013 proposes allowing reporters attend at and report on family law cases with strict limitations on what can be reported. For example, material likely to result in any of the parties, including the children, being identified cannot be published and the Bill establishes punitive measures should this aspect be breached. Under the terms of the Bill, the court can, in certain circumstances which are detailed, exclude reporters and restrict what they report.
